What you are charged for

Every feature of OnBetterTerms is available on every plan, including the free one. What costs money is the model itself, so that is the only thing metered. This page lists every call this product can make and says which of them spend your allowance.

What one reply costs

A typical guided exchange is 0.97¢. That figure is computed from what the model this deployment uses actually charges, not typed here — and the admin console holds it against the ledger, so if real replies stop costing what this page says, it is the page that gets corrected.

The free plan includes $2.00, which is about 210 replies a month and 30 minutes of voice. The plans differ in how much is included and in nothing else.

Absorbed — never billed to you

Checking what you wrote for signs that somebody is in danger. Absorbed, always. Nobody should have a financial reason to avoid a safety check, and metering it would put pressure on us to run it less often.

Billed against your allowance

Your own private guide answering you. Billed. This is the call the published price of a reply describes.
The guide replying in a session the two of you are in together. Billed, to whoever sent the message that prompted it — never to both of you twice.
The guide helping while you work through an argument together. Billed, on the same rule as a shared session.
Drawing together what you wrote — the private note after a debrief, and the small habits it suggests you could try. Billed. It is a model reading your writing and answering, like any other.
Helping you word something before you send it: a draft, a reply to a message you were sent, or another way of putting the same thing. Billed. Asking for a wording is a model call, and nothing is stored unless you keep it.
Noticing a pattern across your own check-ins. Billed, and only when there is enough of your own material for a pattern to mean anything.
Reading the tone of an entry so the product can order what it shows you. Billed, and small — it is a short call about a single piece of writing.
Reading the history you imported and proposing sentences you might want your guide to remember. Billed, once, when you ask for it. Nothing it proposes is kept unless you tick it, and the cost is the same whether you keep everything or nothing.

Voice, which is metered separately

Turning something you said out loud into text. Billed by the minute against a separate voice allowance, not against your replies. Recording is always your choice, and a session nobody records costs nothing.

When the allowance runs out

Model-backed features pause until the allowance refills at the start of the next month. Nothing is charged beyond the plan you chose, nothing auto-upgrades, and no card is touched because you used the product more than you expected to. What you have written stays exactly where it is — a refusal never takes your writing with it.

Everything that is not a model call keeps working: reading, writing, your spaces, your history, exporting it, deleting it. The safety features keep working too, because they are not billed and never were.

What this page is not

Not a promise about a number. The per-reply figure moves with what the model costs and with how long the conversation is; it is an average of ordinary use, said plainly so you can judge it, rather than a guarantee dressed as one.
